Worth It – The Traditional Beckworth

Worth It – The Beckworth

Contrary to what a certain song indicates, one is not the loneliest number.  Singularity is not alone or ‘just one’.  Singularity is strong and solid and comfortable in its own being.  Think of what is singular – what is just one?  The Statue of Liberty, the GRAND Canyon, The Eiffel Tower, Picasso, Dali, Seurat –  YOU!  Wonderful! The list goes on.  Uniqueness and visionary is what one singular item can be. Besides, one can be enough just as it is.   This is Worth it – the Beckworth, (E-3695), with 3 bedrooms, 3.5 baths, in a single story, you will find it is enough just as it is.  Frank Snodgrass of  Living Concepts brings you a beautiful looking home with plenty of space for living alone or, as a family.

The curb appeal of this home is easy to agree with, as it has a soaring 2 arched and columned front porch and entryway.  Arched windows facing the street view, on the garage wall, add to the grandiose but welcoming façade.  The charm of a copper-topped bay window in the front of the house, and the high sloped roofline complete the external beauty.  This is worth it.  This is the Beckworth.

Worth it – The Beckworth Welcome

Stepping into your home from the covered portico, you are met by a trayed ceiling dining room on the left and your large family room in front of you.  Your dining room can be your office, your sacred Sunday night space to eat, the 2 holidays you host a year eating space, maybe your daily eating space, or your ‘we never eat in there, but it looks good’ space – whatever you want it to be, it is here.  Cross the ‘hallway’ into your family room.  It has a beautiful fireplace just waiting for cool temps so you’ll light it.  It wants to be the warm and cozy atmosphere for your naps, share in your tv watching, family gathering, gaming, laughing, and hanging out times.

Beyond the family room is a long, covered porch.  With a door leading to it and big windows, your family room is sure to bring the outside in.

There is an opening from the family room to the kitchen.  This is not a wide-open floor plan; however, you will not feel closed off or left out from the rest of the house if you are in the kitchen.  We know how people feel about kitchens.  They are the ‘gathering’ place in a home.  This kitchen has a lot of counter space.  The counter space is ¾ ‘home plate’ shaped space.  With an open counter bar area, countertop stools will be perfect for breakfast, a quick lunch or dinner, casual chats while you and others (because you will ask them to) help prep for entertaining, this kitchen will never be empty or lonely.  Also, a corner of the kitchen has a pantry for all your ’little of this and little of that’ meal helpers and baking supplies.

There is a breakfast nook here, in a bay window, and it is the perfect spot for banquette seating.  Cozy and fun for a family or one.  Remember, being one is just fine, because unique, starts with U/YOU.

Worth it – The Beckworth Suites

Leave your kitchen and head toward the front of your cozy abode.  You have two bedroom suites that are perfect for a growing family or guests that you enjoy having.  Each suite has a walk-in closet and shares a jack-and-jill bathroom (the bath is accessed and situated between the suites).  With a long dual sink vanity, it makes prepping for the day or night easy.  There is a linen closet here too.  The tub, shower, and commode are closed off from the vanity space for privacy.

Worth it – Mud Room Space and Garage

From one of the bedroom suites on the left side of the house is your laundry room/mudroom and door to the 3-car garage as well as a door to a side porch entry.  Your laundry room has space for a counter and easily a deep sink.

The 3-car garage has a utility door to the outside and will fit both your daily driver and your fun convertible.  Use the extra space for building storage for tools, hobbies, and lawn ‘stuff’ or maybe you put a tv, a small fridge, and comfortable chairs here.

Worth it – Outdoor Pleasures

From the family room, walk out to your long, covered back terrace.  If you have the yard space, you could extend the space with steps down to an uncovered patio area for more al fresco dining, more sun for plants or even build tall planter boxes for easy planting and maintenance.  You can have the best of both worlds here – covered and uncovered outdoor spaces.  Enjoy.  A plus from this outdoor terrace is a door to a bathroom that is tucked between your family room and the master suite.  Imagine having a pool in your backyard and this is very handy restroom access.  There is a shower in this space, a closet for extra linens, towels, and toiletries.

Worth it – The Beckworth Retreat

Finally, the far-right side of this home, the entire front to back, is your daily and nightly respite.  A double-door entrance opens into your bedroom. This space is not only large, with a bay window out back and a door to your covered terrace, but there are ‘extra goodies’ one rarely sees in a master retreat – just wait, I’m getting to that part.  Not only will the main bedroom space hold a magnificent king-sized bed, but the bay window area is ideal for chairs, a table and lamp for reading, studying, chatting on the phone with your friends or just reflect on your day.

Walk past your TWO large walk-in closets toward the master bath.  You have 2 separate sink vanities, not near each other so you won’t bump into or get in another’s way, a large soaking tub, a private commode space, and a step down into a shower.  A closet or tall cabinet space is here for all your needed linens too.

Now – here’s the ’extra-extra’ that you will enjoy having.  Attached to the master bath is a step down to an exercise space AND next to that is a sauna.  Your own private spa is right here!  Isn’t it fun to build a house just for you?

Worth it – One More Thing

Ok, so you are probably wondering where the attic or extra storage space is located.  From the extra bedrooms/rooms on the left side of the house, there is a stairwell up to another floor.  This space, if you want to finish it, has plans for a bathroom, a decent ‘bar’/entertaining area, a walk-in closet and a nice, spacious bonus room.  If you decided to finish this space for functional living, add 750 sq. feet to the house, bringing this in at just shy of 3,700 square feet.  Your home.  Your choice.
