The Stanton Plan: Craftsman, Creative

The Stanton Plan: Craftsman, Creative by Living Concepts is a two-story, cottage style home with its curves and angles placed exactly where they are needed. From the curved staircase inside to the curved arches on the front, the (also) Craftsman home is much more than just aesthetically pleasing.

   The Front

First, the home has stone and cedar shingles on its exterior. Graceful arches make the covered front porch an inviting outside room. Then, the three-car garage is on the left. Shutters on the windows give the home a wide-eyed look, while a carefully landscaped exterior will soften any sharp edges.

   Inside-Left

First, from the three-car garage, you will notice a door on the far wall that goes to your backyard. Then, you have a choice. Stairs on the right inside the garage go inside the main house. However, stairs on the left will take you up to the second-floor bonus room. Let’s go inside first. Nearly straight ahead is the powder room. An office is to the right, as well as the laundry room. Here is a designated space for a utility sink, too.

Next, take a left from the stairs. An under-the-stairs reach-in closet here will be the perfect place to hang your jackets and take off your shoes. A built-in bench on the right makes this task easier. Then, walking towards the rear of the home, a quite spacious (and that is slightly understated) reach-in kitchen pantry is on your left.

   The Rest of the Left

Next, the kitchen and keeping room are at the rear of the home. Countertops line the walls while a large kitchen island, arch-shaped, has room for seating as well as a sink. Then, walking towards the back, your breakfast room has a built-in bench for your banquette. Finally, the keeping room has a fireplace on the far wall and a door on the right that leads out onto the covered lanai.

  The Middle

First, the covered porch asks you to relax on warm or cool evenings with your favorite libations before going inside. Then, once inside, a door on the right goes into the study. Like the keeping room, it also has a fireplace. Straight ahead, however, a beautiful, curved staircase will take you upstairs. A reach-in closet is tucked underneath here.

Around the corner from the closet, you will find a second powder room (remember, the first one is on the left side near the office). Next, on your left, is the formal dining room. Finally, walking towards the rear of the home and through the gallery, the family room has a fireplace on the right wall. It is flanked by shelving for your favorite keepsakes. There is also a door going out onto the covered lanai.

   The Master Suite

First, walking in the gallery from left to right, go past the powder room to a door on your left. (The door on the right is the second door into the study). The master suite (your bedroom) is nearly 300 square feet of pure relaxation and contemplation. The curved sitting room complements the arches found inside and outside of the Stanton plan.

It also has a door to go out onto the covered lanai. Then, there are two spacious walk-in closets. Finally, the master bath has a small linen closet, an enclosed toilet and two sinks, well separated. A soaking tub and a walk-in shower complete this room.

   The Second Floor

First, upstairs the bonus room is on the far left and over the garage. At slightly over 500 square feet, this room has many possibilities. And the fact that it is over the garage means that those using it can be noisier than usual. A rowdy game of table tennis or a quieter game of billiards would both suit this room. For the more serious gamer, either online gaming or a board game could be played here. Might want to boot the others out, though!

Then, there are three more bedroom suites up here. Each suite has its own bath (with a sink, toilet and shower/bathtub combination) and its own walk-in closet. Suites #2 and #3 are at the rear of the home. They each have a curved sitting area that looks out onto the back yard. Also, by these two suites, there are linen closets. Finally, between the stairs and suite #3, you have access to plentiful attic storage.
