The Shearton Plan- An Ideal Craftsman

The Shearton Plan- An Ideal Craftsman by Living Concepts is a two-story wonder. The three-car garage is on your right. A cupola and weathervane adorn the top of the garage, while the covered porch wraps around from the front to the left side of the home. The elevation below shows stone and cedar siding. The home has four bedrooms, three full baths and one powder room.

   The Porch and First Floor

First, let’s explore the covered porch. From the front of the home, walk up the steps and then turn left. The covered porch meanders along the left side of the home, offering you plenty of space for overflow when you have large gatherings. Then, the porch ends in a screened-in porch at the master’s suite.

Walking up the front steps and entering the home, however, takes you into the foyer. On the left, there is the living room. On the right, a formal dining room. Straight ahead, a reach-in closet handily offers you a place to hang your jackets.

  The First Floor

Next, the family room is straight ahead. A door on the left leads to the covered porch. On the back wall, the fireplace is centered. Shelves or cabinets will be on both sides of the fireplace. This is the room where your friends and family will gather. Finally, on the right, stairs go up to the second floor.

    More of the First Floor

First, from the dining room, you walk into the breakfast room. Shelves and/or a countertop on the left side can make meals easier. You could store your casual dinnerware as well as your fine China here. Then, around the corner on the left side, a walk-in pantry is ideally situated, too, as the kitchen is open to the breakfast room. There is a long, rectangular island in the kitchen. A peninsula separates the kitchen from the breakfast room.

Next, from the kitchen and walking towards the back, a reach-in closet is on your left. The office is straight ahead. Then, the laundry room is beside the office. It also has its own closet. A small, covered porch is on the right. Finally, on the right side of the house, there is the three-car garage. A door on the back wall goes to the backyard.

   The Master Suite

First, the master suite has two doors from the outside going in. One is from the screened-in porch. The other is from the covered porch. Another door (inside) on the right side of the suite leads to the interior of the Shearton. Nearby is the downstairs powder room. Then, there are two walk-in closets, one on each side leading to the master bath. Next, inside the master bath, the toilet is enclosed. A soaking tub is here, too. There are two sinks and a small linen closet to store towels and paper products. Finally, there is a walk-in shower, the ideal way (besides soaking) to wash away the day’s worries.

   The Second Floor

First, the second floor has a media room on the right side of the plans. This room has only one small window (easily covered) at its end, making it the perfect location for your home movies. Then, there are three additional bedroom suites upstairs. Each suite has its own walk-in closet. Suite #2 has its own bath with a toilet, sink, and bathtub/shower combination. There is also a small linen closet here.

Next, suites #3 and #4 share a bath. It is similar to the one above. The exception is having two sinks. Finally, a door between the media room and suite #2 gives access to the attic.
