The Salem Plan- Your Traditional Home

The Salem Plan– Your Traditional Home by Living Concepts is as warm and cozy as it is functional. You will have 4093 square feet of living, with plenty of room to spread out when you wish. The master suite and bath are downstairs while three more bedroom suites are on the second floor.

The three-car garage is at the rear of the home. Outdoor spaces include a terrace and porch at the back. The portico or porch on the front of the home also gives you a place to prop your feet up as you think, yeah, life is good.

The First Floor, from Back to Front

First, from the three-car garage, you step up and your laundry room is on your left. Then, to your right, there is a reach-in closet and a small porch. Next, you go into the breakfast room. It has a door that leads onto the terrace. The breakfast room and kitchen are a shared space. There is a kitchen peninsula and room for a small island.

The double sink is on the outside wall. That way, you can look out while you wash those pots and pans. Then, to the right of the sink, a Lazy Susan turntable is tucked underneath the counter in the corner- making best use of the space available. Finally, there is a walk-in pantry that is generous.

   The First Floor-More

As you leave the kitchen, there is a niche on your right. This is the perfect place to display a treasure from your travels or even a child’s work of art. Then, from there, a door opens up into the formal dining room. A fireplace is on the outside wall. The tray ceiling draws your eyes upward. Next, walking from left to right, you pass through the foyer and into the library. It, too, has a fireplace.

Then, walking from the foyer to the gathering room, there is a powder room on your left and stairs going up on your right. The gathering room (what we old-timers called a den) has another fireplace. Shelves or cabinets on either side will hold books or nick-nacks. Your room, your choice! The gathering room, like the breakfast room, opens onto the terrace.

   The Master Suite and Bath

First, there is a reach-in closet right outside of the master suite. This one is tucked under the stairs. It is another example of best use of space. Then, the master suite is more than 300 square feet of a purely relaxing space. Like other rooms that look out over the backyard, it, too, has a door that goes out onto the terrace.

Next, walking towards the front of the home, you enter a small alcove. On your left is a reach-in closet. On your right, though, is a large walk-in closet in a U-shape that will give you plenty of room to walk around as you pick the day’s wearings. Finally, the master bath has an enclosed toilet. Two sinks are separated by counter space. There is also a walk-in shower as well as a soaking tub.

   The Second Floor

First, as soon as you arrive upstairs, the recreation room is on the right. It’s the perfect place for youngsters to release that pent-up energy or for adults to exercise. Maybe for the same reason. A reach-in closet is on the left. Then, there are three bedroom suites upstairs. Each has its own walk-in closet. Suite #2 has its own bath with a shower/tub, a toilet and a single sink. The bath is accessible, too, by those using the recreation room. Finally, suites #3 and 4 share a bath. This one has two sinks, a shower/tub and a toilet.
