The Hyannis Plan: French Country, Well-Planned

Every day is a grand day when you come home to a house you love. The Hyannis Plan: French Country, Well-Planned includes the little details as well as those which assure you that convenience and comfort do indeed walk together. The tri-level home has two powder rooms, four full baths and three bedrooms. There is a three-car garage on the right side (single bays). Stone and stucco on the exterior of the Hyannis, a steep roof line plus arches above most windows define the French country style.

    The Basement

First, we will begin with the basement. In the center of this floor, there is a large recreation room. A fireplace on the far wall has room for shelves on the right side.  A door leads out to a spacious covered veranda. Wander to the right and there is a designated space for your hot tub and an outdoor fireplace. Well planned!

Then, back inside, diagonally and to the left of the rec room, there is a bar with seating. A sink, space for a small refrigerator and a wine room complete this area.

Next, to the left of the stairs, a reach-in closet will hold your coats and shoes. A powder room is nearby. Even more storage is to the left. The two bedroom suites are on either side of the recreation room. Suite #3, to the left, has a sitting room (comfy chair needed here!) and access to the covered veranda. There is a walk-in closet. The bathroom has a single sink, bathtub/shower, toilet and a linen closet.

Then, suite #4 is on the right side. It also has access to the covered veranda. There is a reach-in closet. The bathroom has a single sink, toilet and a walk-in shower. Finally, this well-planned basement, to the left of the bar, has more storage. This can also be a future media room.

     The First Floor

First, the single-bay garage has a door on the left leading to the two-car garage. At the rear of this larger space, you will have room for wall-to-wall cabinets to secure items such as small power tools or garden chemicals. Well-planned? Of course!

Then, entering the house, a door on the left opens up to a covered porch. On your right, the utility/laundry room has a sink, spaces for your washer and dryer, as well as countertops and storage for your washing supplies. Walking ahead, a reach-in closet is on your right and then the stairs. The powder room is on your left.

Next, going towards the back, you enter the kitchen area. A walk-in pantry is on your far-right. In the middle of the kitchen, there is an island with seating and a double sink. The range is on the outside wall. The kitchen is open to the breakfast room, which has a domed ceiling. A door on the right gives you easy access to the screened porch which has an outdoor fireplace and barbecue grill. Then, a second door leads to the veranda- a well-planned outside, too!

From the front porch, you will enter the foyer. A reach-in closet is right around the corner on the left side. On your right is the formal dining room. Then, straight ahead is the gathering room. On the left side, there is a fireplace. Shelves on either side will hold treasured books or artifacts you want to display. A door opens up into the veranda.

The master suite is on the left side of the first floor. The sitting room is closest to the veranda. Like the breakfast room, it also has a domed ceiling. Then, the sleeping area leads into a generous walk-in closet. Finally, towards the front of the home, you walk into the master bath. Immediately on your left is a linen closet. On your right is the enclosed toilet. There are two sinks. The one on the left has a vanity. A soaking tub and walk-in shower complete the master bath.

     The Second Floor

First, when you reach upstairs, a balcony is on your right. Straight ahead is the study. It has built-in cabinets for a well-planned work environment. Then, to your left, a study loft, again with built-ins, will give you additional space to work and plan. Finally, there is the bonus room, which can also be a guest suite. It has its own full bath with a walk-in closet, toilet, shower/tub, linen closet and a single sink with a vanity.
