The Greycrest Plan: Traditional, Accommodating

The Greycrest Plan: Traditional, Accommodating by Living Concepts is a two-story traditional home with a basement. There are five full baths, one powder room and four bedrooms in 7060 square feet. As shown in the rendering below, the brick exterior has added interest with quoins (decorative masonry at the corners). The mullioned windows above the entryway illuminate the foyer inside the two-story home.

   The First Floor, Left Side

First, at the left side, there is a three-car garage. It has a single bay and a double bay.  A few steps up, and then you are inside the home. A reach-in closet is immediately on your right. Now you are in the laundry room. You have ample counter space here plus room for a utility sink and your new washer and dryer. Then, moving towards the back of the home, a built-in desk is on your left.

Next, ahead of you are stairs that will take you into the basement. But, to your right, the breakfast, kitchen and sunroom are waiting to be explored. First, let’s enter this wide expanse and look right. The kitchen has a large peninsula that includes room for a double sink and your dishwasher (the electric one, that is). Then, looking towards the front of the home, the spacious walk-in pantry is tucked into the right-hand corner.

Another island is in the center of the kitchen. I did say this plan was accommodating, right? Next, walking towards the back of the home, stairs on the left go up to the second floor. Finally, for this section, the sunroom faces the backyard. A door on the left leads to stairs that go down and into the yard. A door on the right in the sunroom, however, takes you into an open porch or terrace. The rendering below shows you the well-planned rear elevation.

   The First Floor, Middle

First, back inside, we are in the gathering room. A fireplace is on the outside wall. Then, walking towards the front of the home, an elevator is on the left. This accommodates both the old and young, because you never know when stairs may become impassable. Stairs going down are next.

However, the stairs in the foyer and on the right side are for the second floor. Next, when entering, to the right of the foyer is the living room or study. To the left of the foyer, you will find the formal dining room with a butler’s pantry. Finally, around the corner is the powder room.

The First Floor, Master Suite on Right

First, next to the elevator, there is a reach-in closet. Then, through the door and you are in the master suite, which is a large space limited only by your imagination for furnishings.  A door on its left goes onto the open porch. Next, walking towards the front, there are two generously sized walk-in closets, one on each side. Finally, the master bath includes an enclosed toilet, a small linen closet, a walk-in shower, two sinks and a soaking tub.

   The Basement

First, the basement has a room dedicated to outdoor lawn storage. It can be found on the far left of the plans. To the right of this, there is a covered walkway. There are two doors on the right that take you into the basement. The first one is for the exercise room. The second door goes into the bathroom. Here, there is a toilet, sink and a walk-in shower. Then, continue along the walkway to take the stairs ahead that will bring you back to the first floor.

However, we need to explore more here in the basement. Next, rather than going back upstairs, you are under the covered porch. Straight ahead is another study. Two more rooms have access to the covered porch. Two doors go into the recreation room, complete with a fireplace, while one door goes into the office. This is where you will find one set of stairs going up. A reach-in closet is here, too.

Then, from the recreation room and walking towards the front, you see a bar with a peninsula. Your double sink and under the counter fridge (or dishwasher) are in the plans, too. The elevator is right ahead, as well as a small closet for you to stash items/equipment temporarily. Finally, there is a hobby room with its own storage and a designated space for mechanical storage.

   The Second Floor

First, upstairs there are three additional bedroom suites. Each has its own bath. Suite #2 has a reach-in closet while the other suites have walk-in closets. Its bath consists of a single sink, shower/tub and toilet. Next, suite #3 is similar with the exception of having two sinks and a space for your bathroom linens and supplies. Then, suite #4 is next to the elevator. Its bath has a sink, toilet and a walk-in shower.

Next, a large play-loft is in the far-left corner of the upstairs. On that same side, you can find the bonus room with two reach-in closets inside and another in the adjoining hall. The media room and bonus rooms are open to each other. Finally, in the far-right corner, there is attic storage that is accessible using the door from suite #4.
