The Covington Cottage: Nearly Perfect by Living Concepts is practical and yet has the extras you might want. The French influence (high hip roof, cedar shingles) on the exterior and the internal layout of the plan create the perfect recipe. The home has 3774 square feet with a two-car garage with a workshop space, four full baths, one powder room and four bedrooms.

The Garage and Entrance
First, the two-car garage is behind the main house. What makes this space nearly perfect is that it also contains a workshop with more than 330 square feet. A door on the left makes it easy for you to get in and out without having to use the garage entrance. Whether you store your lawn tools here or make it a hobby space, you’ll be glad it’s there.

Into the Home
Next, from the garage you enter into the covered breezeway. Then, the veranda, which is also covered, has a fireplace on the left with a place for you to store some much-needed grilling utensils. The veranda leads to the gathering room.
Inside, another fireplace anchors the outside wall of the room. On either side, bookcases complete the wall. Next, the gathering room opens up to the kitchen and breakfast rooms. The breakfast room has a door going outside, giving you an alternate way in and out. Nearly perfect!
The kitchen island has a space for your double sink and dishwasher. Plenty of counter space and upper cabinets will give you the room you need for your major appliances as well as the kitchen wares you need.

More on the First Floor
Next, walking towards the front of the home, you enter the dining room. Then, walking towards the right side of the house, the loggia (or porch) is on your right. You are now in the foyer. On your left are stairs going to the second floor. However, straight ahead is bedroom suite #2. It has a generous reach-in closet. The bath has a single sink, shower/tub and toilet. Visiting in-laws or family members with mobility issues will find this downstairs bedroom nearly perfect!

The Rest of the First Floor
First, walking towards the back of the house, you pass the stairs on your left. A reach-in closet is tucked under the stairs. On your right is the powder room. The laundry room is on the same side. It has spaces for your washer and dryer plus room to store laundry supplies out of sight. Definitely, nearly perfect.
Then, there is the office or bedroom suite #3. You choose! It has a walk-in closet and a bath that includes a shower/tub. The powder room (previously mentioned) is part of this bathroom, also.
Finally, there is the master suite and master bath. The master suite has almost 300 square feet for you to plan placement of bedroom furniture. A generous walk-in closet is between this area and the master bath. The latter includes two single sinks, an enclosed toilet, walk-in shower and soaking tub. Ah, nearly perfect!

The Second Floor
First, once upstairs, you will notice the two skylights. Then, on your left, you will notice the bar with room for a sink and under-the-counter refrigerator. To the left of the bar is a room for storage. The loft occupies most of the footage upstairs. Natural light from the skylights will make this a restful place. Next, the bonus room is to the right of the stairs.
There is a powder room at the head of the stairs. Finally, suite #4 with its bath occupies the rear of the second-floor plan. The bedroom is nearly perfect for a reading nook by the window at the back. There is a walk-in closet. In the bathroom, there is a shower/tub, single sink and a toilet.
