The Claybourne Plan: Traditional, One Story

The Claybourne Plan: Traditional, One Story by Living Concepts has four bedrooms, three full bathrooms and a covered porch. All of this, and more, is in a single story with 3377 square feet. The two-car garage is on the left. The exterior is brick, with cornices (decorative molding) adding interest to the home. The front has an arched doorway.

Let’s explore the inside of the home. You will see why a one-story home can be ideal for you and your family.

   From the Garage

First, we enter the two-car garage. A door going outside is on your left. Inside the garage and on the left side, however, you have a storage room. This is the perfect place to lock up valuables such as power tools. Because just about everyone loves their leaf blower or drill.  Or it could be a hand tool you inherited years ago.  You choose! Then, we go inside using the door on the right.

Next, a reach-in closet is on your left. The laundry room is here, too. It has ample counter space and a place for your utility sink. Then, right around the corner, the powder room has a walk-in shower. Finally, this is especially important because the study nearby can be used as a bedroom instead. It has a nicely sized reach-in closet.

    To the Dining Areas

First, across from the powder room, there is another reach-in closet. To the right, there are stairs that go up to attic storage. How handy! (If you have ever carried boxes up and down those pull-down stairs, you will most definitely appreciate this convenience). Then, traveling towards the east side, the dining room and foyer are on the right. Another small closet is nearby. On your left, the kitchen opens up into the breakfast room.

Inside the kitchen, a walk-in pantry is on your immediate left. The kitchen has room for an island as well as a peninsula. Finally, inside the breakfast area, a door on the left goes into the master suite. A door on the right goes outside to the covered porch.

To the Rest of the Right Side

First, if we enter the home from the front door, the foyer leads directly into the family room. This space is open to the breakfast room on the left. It has a fireplace on the right wall. It also has a door going out onto the covered porch. The family room opens up to the living room, which faces the front of the home.  It has a bay window (one that juts out slightly).

Next, from the family room, you enter the hall where the remaining suites can be found. Both have their own reach-in closet. They share a bath, which has a single sink, toilet and a shower/bathtub combination. Finally, the suite on the left has a door going to the covered porch. It can also be used as your office instead.

   And then the Master Suite

First, the master suite is on the left side of the home. The breakfast room door opens up into the sleeping area, where the tray ceiling and the bay window are the extras you would expect in a larger home. Then, from here, the master bath has an enclosed toilet. There are two sinks, a soaking tub and a walk-in shower. Finally, two walk-in closets complete this bedroom suite.
