The Bedford Cottage Plan by Living Concepts is a one-story traditional home with 1916 square feet, three bedrooms and two full baths. The two-car garage is on the right side of the home. This plan is ideal for its versatility. It can be the home you retire into, a second home in the mountains, or that first home for your growing family.

While a smooth stucco exterior is shown in the elevation above, a brick one would also work. After all, your home, your choice! Let’s walk inside and begin in the foyer.

The Bedford Cottage Plan
From the Foyer
First, go a few steps up and onto the front porch. On your right, a window box is ready to be filled with the plants that you love. Then, once in the foyer, a reach-in closet is on your right. On your left, you will find two bedroom suites. Suite #2, as designated on the plans, could be a den instead. It is closest to the gathering room.
Both suites have a reach-in closet. They also share a bath which has a single sink, toilet and a bathtub/shower combination. The closet for suite #3 is slightly larger, making it the more desirable guest or second bedroom.

More on the Left and Middle
From the potential den, walk towards the back of the home. The gathering room is in the left corner of the Bedford plan. A fireplace here will add warmth to those chilly days. Shelves or cabinets are on the left side. The window on its right side plus those on the back wall will allow light to seep in from different directions.
The dining room is next to the gathering room, in the middle of the home. As it is open to the gathering room, a large dining table could easily be placed here for those occasions when you want a more formal meal or your crowd has grown. You could even take your dishes outdoors- the covered veranda is just steps away.

The Kitchen and Laundry
The kitchen is between the master suite on the right and the bedroom/den on the left. On the peninsula, which separates it from the dining room, there is additional seating. The dishwasher and sink are here, too. Then, walking towards the garage, a closet is on your left and the laundry room, on the right. The door to the garage is nearby, too.

Then Master Suite and Bath
The entrance door to the master suite is to the right of the dining room. This is a large open space of about 200 square feet- a blank palette for you to embrace. The next door takes you into the master bath. Here, a walk-in shower and a soaking tub gives you bathing choices. A toilet is semi-enclosed. Two sinks in here are well separated with the counter space needed for two adults.
