Lamare Cottage Perfection
This lamare plan is cottage perfection. Maybe a lesson learned over the last 12 months has been to cherish family and friends. Likewise, perhaps you learned that vacations are not always on our time schedule either. The world has a way of throwing curves. Consequently, gambling with the timelines or effects of the world doesn’t suit you anymore. That said, your own vacation get-a-way, a place to find respite and comfort as you need, is possible. As a result, consider this Lamare plan, a cottage style home, by Living Concepts. With 2494 square feet, 3 bedrooms, 3 full and 1 half bath in 2 stories, there is room for friends and family to visit, or a great space for you to process your needs all by yourself.
Front of Lamare
The front of this home screams “Welcome”. It is a cottage style with craftsman notes everywhere. Tapered front porch columns, natural building elements of stone and shake cedar, a covered front porch and metal roof (imagine the sound of rain on this roof as you read or as you lull off to sleep) are sure to create the cozy, comfortable look you are striving for. Additionally, there is an oversized 2 car garage which will surely come in handy for your boat or golf cart. With a border of low-growing flowers and shrubbery lining the house and garage with all the charm it offers, you must be eager to see inside. Let’s go.
Floor 1 of Lamare – Foyer, master suite and laundry
Once inside the foyer there is a large opening to the family room. However, beginning on the left of the foyer is a laundry room with space for a sink, small counter, washer and dryer. Out the laundry and down a hallway is the entrance to your master suite. With the intention of peacefulness, look at what your eyes will greet with the morning and again before slumber sets in each night. This room has its own door to the covered veranda. Therefore, listening to the noises of the night or meeting the sun for daily devotions will feel just right. Then, in the master bath, there is a long vanity but two separate sinks. A luxury tub, separate shower and commode completes this space. Your walk-in closet shares a wall with your laundry room. For this reason, adding a sliding pocket door would make doing laundry easier.

Family Room, Kitchen, Eating Area
Leaving the master retreat, head back to your foyer, but turn left into the spacious family room. Two things will stand out for you. First, the long wall of windows that brings light to the space. Secondly, the centered fireplace adds ambiance to every chilly day or night. With built-in shelves, covered benches or storage for your firewood, your wall here will be perfect. Your kitchen opens into this space so if you are entertaining or just like an open feeling, here it is. There is plenty of counterspace for meal prep and a corner for keeping cookbooks handy. An eating area takes the place of a formal dining room. Including benches for seating on one side of a long table will allow for many to gather around.
Outdoor Covered Veranda
From the family room, a door leads to your covered veranda. Certainly, this space will bring you joy come rain or shine. Adding pots for herbs and flowers, your grill, and a small fridge, you’re ready for a party. Ideally, there is room out here for a nice table and chairs, adding more dining space for entertaining. If you have the backyard space, extend the living area to an uncovered patio. After that add a pool for beautiful outdoor living.
Lamare Cottage in the corners
Closet, Pantry, Powder Room
Through the kitchen towards the garage, you’ll find a closet for hanging coats or umbrellas. Similarly, opposite this is a walk-in pantry. A powder room sits just inside the door to the garage. On the wall shared with the garage, sits another closet and space for a bench with storage for shoes, book-bags etc. One last mention, and it’s important, the staircase to the second story is off the foyer (on the horizontal), giving you the opportunity to build storage, more shelves or whatever you dream, under the space. Meanwhile, let’s go look upstairs.
Lamare Cottage in the heights
Here is where your guests or kids find their daily rest. Conveniently at the top of the stairs is a large loft area with a built in counter. Use this as your office or quiet space to tuck into a comfy chair to read in. There are two suites, each with their own bath and walk-in closet. There is a door off the loft into a spacious area for storage or perhaps, a rec room.
The Lamare Cottage Plan
Above all, this comprehensive plan, the Lamare, by Frank Snodgrass of Living Concepts, is sure to meet your needs. Being that it is beautiful inside and out, it will be comfortable as your primary home or get-a-way retreat. Make this your own. Welcome home.
