Moreau Woods

Looking to downsize?  Do you have a recent high school grad that is off on a journey to establish a place in this world?  Are you ready for less maintenance or a second home on a beautiful lot?  Look no further.  This Cottage and Craftsman style home, Moreau Woods, brings you almost 2100 sq. feet with 3 bedrooms, 3.5 baths and plenty of living and entertainment spaces.

Let’s start at the beginning.  The covered front porch will look great with potted plants and a rocking chair.  The columns, natural wood shingles and natural design colors are classic Craftsman features.

Entry

Welcome home.  Your foyer says hello and is open to a dining room to the left and a family gathering room straight ahead.  There is a handy coat closet in the foyer.  Perhaps a bench or a tall console table with a mirror above makes this space functional.

The dining room, defined by columns on two walls, can serve as the holiday or nightly meal center or a wide-open office.  If you hang your favorite pictures on the long wall, set an inviting table, and make delicious meals, this dining space is sure to be filled often.

Kitchen

Across from the dining room is a hallway that leads to a door and the kitchen.  You’ll be sure to enjoy the pantry and fill it with cookbooks, small kitchen appliances, as well as food ‘stuff’ and perhaps your hidden stash of sweets.  For its size, this kitchen has a lot of counter and storage space. A raised bar can sit 4 or more barstools for easy conversations and casual breakfast eating.  The sink faces, at an angle, the eating area.  A door from the eating area leads out to your patio.

Patio and Gathering Room

If you like to entertain, there are two great spaces here.  The patio with a grill and table, surrounded by lush landscaping can bring many days and nights of memory-making.  Back inside, the large gathering room has a fireplace for cool weather.  Flanking the fireplace you can fill tall bookcases, or build benches with storage for blankets, board games and another place to hide your favorite snacks.

Bedrooms

The right side of the house is where two bedrooms wait for your college kid to come home and visit or give a respite to the house guests that will be happy to come and stay.  Each bedroom has a closet, but not walk-in style.  Between the two suites is a jack-and-jill bath.  A double sink vanity is ideal, and the bathing/shower and commode are separated behind a door.

Laundry, Powder Room and Garage

To the left of the dining room, you’ll find a powder room and laundry room, as well as the door to your two-car garage.  There are also stairs up to a second-floor bonus room, which I’ll mention again soon.  Across from the laundry room is a closet for the recycled bags to take to the grocery store and farmer’s market.

The garage is just the spot for your vehicles and some storage on the shared wall of the house and shelves. You can put miscellaneous tools and cleaning supplies in the front bump-out area.

Master Suite

The back left side of the house is your daily happy place.  The suite is large and will fit a beautiful bed and dressers.  Your master bath can be the master spa.  Again, a double vanity is perfect. A soaking tub and separate glass wall shower (especially with a rain head or multi-purposed shower spray feature) will make every morning a pleasant one.  Yes, there is a linen closet in here too, so you don’t have to give up space in your extra-large walk-in closet for towels and bed linens.

The large walk-in closet, while having one pocket-door entry, feels like two (2) separate spaces.  If you have it, it will fit in this closet.

Bonus Room

Remember the stairs near the back powder room?  Those lead to a large bonus room with a closet and full bath.  Need an office?  Space for a hobby?  Like movies and spaces for girls’ night or a guys’ night in?  This is the perfect place for all that and more.

It’s all Here

If this is your first, last or a second home, the comfort in your daily living, entertaining ease, and options to make your own, just pack your bags and call this home.  Moreau Woods is waiting for you.
