Lattimore – Dreamy

Lattimore

“Summer passes into autumn in some unimaginable point of time, like the turning of a leaf.”

  • Henry David Thoreau

Colonial? Low Country? Farm House?  Lattimore is all three.  This is a cozy, casual, lots of windows, symmetrical, brick, steep-pitched roofline, front -porch home.  This is a magical ‘mash-up’ of great living styles – brought to you by Frank Snodgrass and Living Concepts. Lattimore has more than 4,400 square feet of space with 4 bedrooms 3.5 baths in a two-story dreamy home.

The curb appeal of Lattimore is undeniable.  A long, deep front porch to while away on over coffee, a mid-day iced tea or an evening glass of wine, this is a charmer.  The dormer’s eyes’ that oversee the area are equally charming and add light to the second floor. Large windows on the front of the house are begging to be looked into, and from.

Let’s go –

Of the many things I adore about this house, the side-load garage is basically imperceptible. A large three-car garage is located way to the back right of this home.  It is necessary, but will not aesthetically impede the charm and beauty of the house.

Now, the porch – THE PORCH – it’s the long train glory’ like a bridal dress train.  Long, beautiful, functional…can’t get enough of the porch!  Perhaps you’ll paint the ceiling a lovely light blue/grey, in the spirit of generations of Southern tradition.  It welcomes the day, delays the nightfall, feels good, and allegedly keeps bugs away.  Win, win, win.  Get rocking chairs, plenty of tables for tea and pimento-cheese snacks, and there is plenty of room for plants, flowers, growing potted herbs….this porch is a room, it is functional and beautiful.

Foyer, Library and Dining Room

Hello!!  Is this a fabulous welcome or what?  If you aren’t already mesmerized by the front porch, I know, it’s awesome, but this inside is a real WOW.  A statement foyer, ready for the round table with a gorgeous floral arrangement or smaller ‘tablescape’ for specific holiday delights, your wants and whimsy start here.

To the left, your ‘might never leave’ library with a fireplace, says hello .  Seriously?  Fireplace!  Install a small fridge, a cozy, soft chaise or sectional furniture, and leaving this room may not be necessary.  However, I know how fabulous the rest of this house is, so let’s keep exploring.  Be brave in the library.  Dark navy walls in satin paint and floor-to-ceiling bookshelves trimmed in the same navy, matte paint….or bookshelves in soft cream – maybe walls of a lush wallpaper and a complementary color painted wood for your books/art/etc. is your preference?  This room is dreamy. I’m going to live here.

Dining room

Ok, I didn’t address the dining room yet – it is fabulous too.  Why?  FIREPLACE.  Is there a better singular word?  Dramatic, warm, safe, moody, warm, welcome, stay. Everything is said by the placement of a fireplace in this room. How do you decorate?  Isn’t it fun to imagine?  Dark and dramatic?  Neutral furniture, rug colors, and a bold fireplace?  Blended, calm, understated warmth of the fireplace and contrasting wall décor and furniture?  It all works.  Your home – dream and create your way.

Gathering room & Terrace

Seriously, this house is so fantastic. The master suite encompasses the whole left side of the house.  The entertaining, busy, engaging part of the house is all lovely, but we can’t ignore the incredible space of the central gathering room.  Fireplace number three is here. Can you believe it? A cute area for a mini-bar snugs into a corner. Double doors lead out to the rear terrace.  But, the huge gathering room and fireplace demand a cozy, fun, soft, sit, drink, laugh, nap, decorate for holidays, celebrate….LIVE in this space and envelop all it offers; it is ready for you to create and enjoy.

 Master Suite

The whole left side of this cozy home is where your day will begin and end.  Go ahead, pat yourself on the back in choosing this wonderful plan.  A cool tray ceiling and a large room welcome you. Yes, pick the magical bedroom pieces you want; this room can and will handle it all.  There is a single door that leads to the back terrace.

A hallway – open nook area off the main room, branches into to your walk-in closets, a large master bathroom, and a private commode room.

This truly is a bedroom haven.

Kitchen, Eating area and ‘Back Hall’

The kitchen is large with plenty of counterspace and a pantry.  There is a peninsula bar/countertop area that separates the kitchen from the eating area.

The eating area has a bumped-out wall that would be cute for a widow seat.  There is also a door that leads out to the back terrace.

 Upstairs

Three bedrooms are upstairs, two of which have dormer windows. Those two suites share a Jack-n-Jill bathroom, which has the third dormer window.  Each of the three bedrooms has a walk-in closet.  A big rec room, at the top of the stairs, has access to a bathroom that is also accessible to the third bedroom.  The rec room can be a lot of things, from a movie room, to more office space, to kids’ hangout to a game room.

Isn’t this house great!  Get busy and order this plan from Living Concepts plan page or call and talk with someone.  Just imagine, next holiday season, you and your favorite people could be sitting in these walls making new memories.
