English Country: Auvergne

English Country: Auvergne by Living Concepts is a two-story home with four bedrooms, four full baths and one half-bath or powder room. Let’s look at the front elevation below. The exterior is stucco with accents of stone on the left side. Concrete tile on the steep roof mimics wood tile. The two-car garage is on the right side, temporarily camouflaged by the landscaping.

Dormer windows are also a characteristic of the English Country home. The home has outdoor spaces for entertaining and relaxing. Time to look inside!

    First Floor, Right to Middle

Entering from the two-car garage, the laundry room is on the right side. A reach-in closet is next. Then, on the left side, a built-in desk makes it easy to leave your work behind, if only briefly. Shoes can also be slipped off and stored here with an entryway bench. The butler’s pantry is on this side, too. Across from here, the walk-in pantry is in the perfect spot-the entrance to the kitchen.

The breakfast room and kitchen are open. An island in the center holds extra seating as well as the double sink. Next, on the outside of the right wall, the heating and cooling units are enclosed. The breakfast room and kitchen are open. To the left of this area, the gathering room is also a large, open space. A fireplace is on the left wall. On either side, cabinets or shelves will hold books, or perhaps treasures from your travels. Your home, your choice!

The gathering room and the breakfast room both have doors going out onto the covered veranda. An outdoor fireplace is on the far right.

The photo above shows the covered terrace. In addition, there is another terrace above, uncovered. (More on that when we explore the second floor).

   Middle to Left

First, entering from the loggia or front porch, the formal dining room is on the right. On your left, however, the study has its own fireplace. Back in the foyer, and the stairs going up are on the left. Then the foyer leads into a short hall that separates the master suite and bath from the other living spaces, giving you the privacy you need. The master suite, like the gathering room and the breakfast room, has a door opening onto the covered terrace.

Walking towards the front of the home, you will pass by two walk-in closets, one on each side. Next is the enclosed toilet on the right. Finally, inside the master bath, there are two (separated) sinks, a walk-in shower and a soaking tub. A cabinet here holds your bathroom essentials.

   The Second Floor

First, each bedroom suite on the second floor has its own bath. Each bath has a single toilet, sink and a bathtub/shower combination. Suite 3 has a reach-in closet while the others have a walk-in closet. Suites 2 and 3 also have room for the storage of bathroom items.

Two more rooms make up the second floor. The bonus room is one of them. It is over the garage. At 31 feet long, this room can easily be configured to entertain several persons at once. Finally, the room that joins the second floor terrace, the link-side retreat, has its own wet bar. It also has access to the bathroom on its left. The purpose of the room is to give the owner the ability to watch a game of golf in progress. Or just people watch, which can be fun, too.
