Dickson – Craftsman Calling

Do you love to sit and observe the world…to feel a part of it while also taking a quiet seat to watch as it unfurls its legs and wings?  If so, this is your house.  Dickson – a 2800 sq ft, 1.5 story home with 3 bedrooms, 2.5 baths in the cozy Craftsman/Bungalow style.

Your covered front porch, with quintessentially Craftsman tapered columns, is the right spot to sit in a rocking chair, sip a cool drink and see what you notice about the life around you. Flowers and shrubs as low plantings around the home, the arched entry to the front door and the front-load garage bring curb appeal that will be the envy of your street.  Natural materials and colors found in nature also define a Craftsman/Bungalow style home.  Let’s go in and look around, this home is calling.

Dickson Front View

Dickson – Come on In

Once you step into your home, you’ll notice the staircase ahead and the powder room to the right. However, the great room and fireplace will draw you in like bears to honey.  This space will surely be a favorite if your floors are hardwood, soften them with soft area rugs and settle in on a sectional couch.

The dining room is open to the great room.  A nice round table for four or six would be ideal.  A swinging door leads to the kitchen.

Dickson – Eat and Clean

The kitchen has a nice pantry for large serving pieces, pots or non-perishable foods.  There is counterspace in an L-shape facing the back yard and outside deck. While there is a door from the eating area out to the deck, a long solid wall leaves you plenty of space for a table.  Perhaps you eat all your meals in the dining room and put a cute café table and chairs in the eating area and enjoy coffee and muffins here.

From the kitchen, walk toward the front of the house and a laundry room is straight ahead.  While it isn’t large, aside from the washer and dryer, there is space to hang a bar on the wall to dry things, or put up a shelf or cabinets for detergent etc.

The door to the garage walks into the laundry room.  A nice storage room in the garage means you don’t need cabinets to take up space around your cars.  There is a utility door from the garage out to the side of the house, that perhaps meets a walkway to your back yard.

Dickson – Master Suite

A double door to the right of the laundry room leads to the first-floor main bedroom.  You’ll really like the walk-in closet.  The room will fit a queen bed and dressers.  The master bath has a separate shower and tub and a double-sink vanity.  No more angling for space while brushing your teeth or getting ready for your day.

Dickson – Let’s go Up

Heading upstairs, a hallway goes left and right and is open to the great room below.  To the left is one bedroom suite with a walk-in closet.  To the right of the stairway is a second bedroom, also with a walk-in closet.  Across from the hall is a full bath.  These bedrooms are ideal for guests or growing children.  There is also a closet off the hallway that is perfect for a linen closet and for storing cleaning products.

In the back right corner of the house is a large rec room.  Need office space?  Exercise area?  Have you wanted a nook to read in or space for crafting?  Here it is.  This room can be a very nice multi-functional area.  There is a door here that accesses your storage needs.
