“If opportunity doesn’t knock, build a door.” – Milton Berle
Westminster, this Living Concepts 2-story European-style home brings you over 4,000 sq. feet of living space with 4 bedrooms, 3 full and 2 half-bathrooms. You’ve heard both phrases, “Come on Down” in the game show industry and if opportunity doesn’t present itself to you, build the door for yourself to walk through. This Westminster plan gives you both of these ideas. There is a lower level (besides the main and 2nd floor), so go ahead and ‘come on down’. This house has an opportunity, and you should build a door (and the rest of the house too), – a garage door that is. The aesthetic appeal of this home is that from the curb appeal, all you see is the beautiful home. A tall, steep roofline, French Chateauesque-like, and a welcoming covered front porch show just the beginning of the beauty offered here.
This home is ideal for a growing family or if you need room for visitors and grown children. Since I asked you to come on down and want to talk about the garage, the place to start is at the bottom. So, let’s pull into the garage and take it from there.

Lower-Level Bounty

This lower level, where you will find a side-entry, 2-car garage, brings you 627 sq feet of garage and 730 of living/entertainment areas. Once inside the garage, you find 2 doors, one for storage or a great hobby/woodworking/tool room and the other takes you to your lower-level living. As you enter the house, a large walk-in closet and stairs to the main level greet you. If you don’t want a spare refrigerator in the garage storage area, perhaps the walk-in closet can hold one. A hallway to your left has you passing by a powder room on the edge of your rec/gaming room space. The rec room is large and inviting with a fireplace to add warm ambiance anytime you need it. Guys, you will enjoy this hang-out space since there is a bay window area for playing cards, pool or darts in. Ladies, your wine club, book club or just needed time to chat with your friends will be perfect down here. Teens/kids, you will enjoy this space to ‘get away’ from others and have your own lounge space if need be. A built-in wet bar area is just right for snacks, and 2 small fridges for drinks and water. Since there is no additional bonus room on the 2nd floor, this area is sure to be a favorite for all.
Also, from the rec room is a door leading to your covered outdoor patio.

Up You Go
Once you take the stairs from the lower level up to the main floor, you are standing between a large foyer and your living room. The foyer opens to the left to a dining room, but the right wall of the foyer is long and solid. Hang pictures here, set a bench with storage or a writing desk to hold a beautiful floral arrangement.
From the dining room, a door leads to a walk-through area with a closet and double-doored pantry. This dining room is at the front of the house with 2 large windows to let in plenty of light.
From the walk-through from the dining room and headed to the kitchen, you’ll find your long laundry room to the left. There is a closet in here as well as plenty of space for a utility sink and your appliances. A long, solid wall might be a space where you add more cabinets or counter space and an under-counter ‘hiding’ spot where your favorite pet can rest.
The closet and pantry area leads to your kitchen, family room, and eating area.

Kitchen, Family Room, and Eating area
These spaces are wide-open and seamless in transition. The kitchen has a long island with built-in cooktop and space on either side for seating. When you are at the cook-top, you face the family room, so you won’t miss any action going on in there. Cabinets and prep-space in an L-shape provide an open feeling and plenty of room for making the meals you enjoy. The breakfast area is bayed and ideal for every meal.
The family room is large and will be another cozy spot (besides the lower level), for hanging out or entertaining. There is a door in the back of this room leading out to your screened porch and a door on the right side of the eating area leading to your large outdoor deck.

Living Room
Across from the foyer is a large living room with a door to the back deck as well as access from the eating area. This room can be as formal or casual as you prefer. There is no fireplace in here.

Master Suite
The entire right side of this main level is where your master suite makes its presence known. A large bedroom area, also with a door to the deck, has a double tray ceiling. A wrought iron 4 poster bed with a canopy would look great here as the size of the room and ceiling height can complement the bed size. On the back wall of this room is windows, so putting comfortable chairs for sitting in at the end of the day or a corner chaise would be nice. Down a hall from the bedroom area, you have 2 separate walk-in closets. At the front of the house is the master bath. Ideally, this has separate sink vanities. A soaking tub, separate shower, and an enclosed space for your commode round out the suite.

Second Floor
Head up the stairs to your second floor and this is where your children and/or guests will rest. At the top of the stairs is an area open to the foyer. To the right is one of 3, bedroom suites. This first suite has a walk-in closet and a full bath.
Down the hall further is a second and third suite with walk-in closets. These suites share a bath, but not in typical jack-n-jill style. They each have a pocket door to a sink/vanity area. The tub and toilet are in a separate space with door access from each sink area. One of these suites would make an ideal office if you don’t need the bedroom functionality.
