Canterbrook-Traditional, Spacious

Canterbrook-Traditional, Spacious is a home plan by Living Concepts with two stories plus a basement, six bedrooms (four dedicated), five full baths, and one half-bath. Spacious, right? This traditional home can also be considered low country, with its comfy porch that extends the length of the front. The three-car garage is on the right, with separate bays for each of your vehicles.

A cupula (a small structure) rests on the right roof with a weathervane atop. Like the Charleston, the dormered windows above the front porch and the garage have arches that complement the front door as well as the arches above the garage doors.

   The Basement

First, there are stairs going up that lead into the patio. This could be the perfect spot for your grill and lounge chairs (even a grill-master has to rest her feet). Then, the door to the inside is off-center and to the left. The media room is almost 400 square feet of relaxation. There is a fireplace on the left wall (remember, we are walking from the patio to the inside). Shelves next to the fireplace can hold books or your favorite media.

Next, the wet bar is in the right corner. It has space for a dishwasher and a sink with a peninsula for seating. The wine closet is nearby. Then, on your right is the guest suite with a reach-in closet. It also has a full bath with a toilet, sink and shower/bathtub combination. A cabinet inside will hold the extra linens and paper products you might need.

To the left of the media room, the playroom also has its own reach-in closet. The playroom is open to the media room. There is a full bathroom with a walk-in shower nestled between the playroom and the exercise room. Next, there are two more doors that give you access to the outside. One of these doors is in the bathroom (convenient!) and the other is on the far wall near the guest suite (in mechanical storage). Finally, there are two storage rooms, one for mechanical and the other for your miscellaneous items. The stairs going to the first floor are between this storage room and the media room.

   The First Floor, Right Side

First, on the right side, there is a two-car garage as well as a single bay. A workshop is planted between these two garages. Inside the two-car garage there is a door going outside. Then, once inside, a reach-in closet is on the right. On the left, however, there is a small, covered porch, giving homeowners another option for entering the home. Around the corner, you will find the powder room. (Another reach-in closet is across from the powder room). Counters or cabinets on the left side can keep items out of the way as you enter.

Next, on the right, the laundry room has plenty of space for those large appliances as well as for storing washing necessities. Then, the kitchen and breakfast room are both straight ahead. The double sink is on the right wall, under the window. The island includes your cooktop and will have room for eating, if desired. Finally, the walk-in pantry is in the lower right corner of the kitchen, while the breakfast room looks out over your backyard.

The First Floor, Middle and Left

First, walking from the covered lanai or porch, you enter the front of the home. On your right, the dining room is open on two sides. You will definitely want to have special dinners here, or even everyday ones! Walking straight ahead, the stairs going up to the second floor and stairs going down make for a dramatic entry.

Next, the family room is more than 380 square feet of relaxation. A fireplace is on the right wall. Shelves are on the right side of the fireplace while the door to the breakfast room is on the left side. The door to the veranda (a roofed, open-air porch) is also in here. Finally, the veranda has stairs on its left that will take you down to the back yard.

First, from the front entry, the living room is on your left as you walk inside. A fireplace with shelves on both sides is on the outside wall. Then, a full bath is on your left side, too, with toilet, one sink and a shower/bathtub combination. It also opens up into the study, which has a reach-in closet. On the inside/right wall of the study and open to the family room, there is a counter with a sink, an extra convenience. Finally, the sunroom opens up into the study and the family room, as well as having a door that leads out onto the veranda.

   The Second Floor

First, the master suite and master bath are on the left side of the second floor. The master suite includes a sitting room which has a door on its right opening up onto the balcony/deck. Then, walking towards the front of the home, there are two walk-in closets. Finally, the master bath has an enclosed toilet, a walk-in shower, soaking tub and two sinks that are separated by counter space. There is also a small, dedicated space to store your bathroom essentials.

First, there are two additional bedrooms suites upstairs. Each has its own walk-in closet. Like the master suite’s sitting room, bedroom #2 has a door going out to the balcony. Both bedrooms share a bath which has two sinks, a toilet and a shower/bathtub combination. A small linen closet here holds the extra items you might need. Then, the bathroom opens up into the playroom which also has a walk-in closet. Finally, the playroom has another door that leads into attic storage.
