“The most powerful thing you can do is the right one. The most powerful thing you can be is yourself.” – Maxime Lagacé

Curb Appeal
Yes, the outside of this home is beautiful. Whether this home is in the mountains, on a lake or in a city, it is sure to wow you daily. The peaked rooflines, large windows, dormers and wide steps to your front door make every visitor feel welcome and curious to see more inside.

Foyer, Dining Room and Living Room
Once inside, a spacious foyer greets you. I love the look of a rich-toned, round wood table with an interesting centerpiece in a foyer. There is also a perfect spot for two chairs and a table or bench between them, or a long table for a lamp and floral arrangement.
The dining room juts out at the front of the house. This is THE place for many meals, celebrations, and putting puzzles together space. Yes, get the dining room set that will seat twenty. This room wants you to paint it a soft color, put great art on the walls, make great food and then sit and enjoy it. In fact, I would make a grilled cheese sammy, a broccoli slaw salad, pour a glass of warm spiced wassail and sit here by myself for a lovely lunch.
To the left of the foyer is a step-down living room. A fireplace centers this space and is sure to warm everyone who comes for New Year’s Eve celebrating. Make this space as formal or not as you wish. Just make it a welcome place for all.

Main Suite
The entire left side of the house is a luxurious main bedroom and bath. Don’t apologize, you want and should have the large home you desire. Your bedroom area is over twenty feet wide, so get a king-size bed, get the cozy sofa you want for reading (and put it in the bump-out nook under the back window) and make this a favorite haven.
An extra-large walk-in closet takes up the area between the bedroom suite and the bathroom. Like shoes and purses? Men, do you have a lot of shoes and golf shirts? It’s all good, there is room for everything. Put an island in the closet for your neckties and jewelry.
If you like a spa experience, create one here. Your shower can be fancy and spa-like, the soaker tub can have jets, add your favorite bath salts and bubbles and two separate sinks means no elbow bumping with anyone while brushing your teeth.

Covered Veranda, Kitchen and Gathering Room
As you walk from your main suite, pass a powder room off the gallery hallway that splits the living room and a covered veranda. No matter the weather, the veranda will be fine for dining or relaxing. It’s also a great extension of entertainment for all the parties you’re sure to have.
The chef’s kitchen is a dream. There are two islands, one is perfect for prepping food and the other for a serving area and casual eating. You also have two pantries, one for storage of food items and the other, a butler’s pantry, for small appliances, extra dishes, and a small refrigerator.
Now that you’ve spent time cooking, your eating area is nestled next to a cozy gathering room in the back right corner of the house. You’ll be comfortable watching your favorite movies and nightly news here. When the weather gets chilly, the warmth from the fireplace is sure to keep you warm.

Last but not least…
The stairway to the second floor is in the foyer, on the other side of a shared wall with the kitchen. At the far end of the house is where your laundry room, a closet, and second powder room are located. The door to your three-car garage is here as well. One bonus in the garage is a set of double doors that separates a workshop/large storage area from the main garage area. If you have a messy hobby or like to garden, this is where you’ll want to work.

Upstairs

Yes, this is a big home. Not only are there four bedrooms, each with their own walk-in closets and bathrooms, but a spacious loft area as well. This can be a great teen hang-out space, hobby, and homework central area or library. The loft is open to areas below. This home is perfect for a big family or for having visitors, as you can see, there is plenty of room for entertaining, sleeping, and making memories.
With all the bedrooms up here, a separate walk-in closet off the hallway will hold towels, bed linens, extra toiletries and cleaning supplies.
“Don’t ask yourself what the world needs. Ask yourself what makes you come alive, and then go and do that, because what the world needs is people that have come alive.” – Howard Thurman
I hope Clarendon lights you up so you can make new memories and enjoy life. It’s a beautiful home for a new year and beyond.
