Barcroft – European Charm

Want to feel like a queen or king in your own castle?  You can.  This charming Barcroft plan, with 4300 sq. feet, 3 bedrooms and 3.5 bathrooms brings French Country and European design to you for comfortable living every day. From the moment you drive into the driveway, the delights are obvious. With arched garage doors, peaked (like a cottage and European) rooflines and chateau-esque rooflines (French Country inspired) this home is already full of character, but it’s the round, 2-story turret that will lure you in for more.

Let’s go in, there’s so much to show you

Barcroft First Floor

Foyer, Dining Room and Library

This first floor is loaded with rooms for every aspect of your life.  This house has plenty of space for entertaining a crowd but is cozy with a smooth floor-plan flow for times when it’s just you here.  Once in the round portico of your turret and in the front door, your foyer opens to the right into a dining room with tray ceiling.  A library, with double doors is to the left.  A library – yes, really.  With wood-beamed ceiling décor and a fireplace, this space will be perfect for napping, working, reading or listening to beautiful music on Spotify. While this is considered a library and there is an office space in the house, this would make the ideal location for a home office.   The dining room has wide openings to the foyer and a gallery hallway, across from the gathering room.  Eat here any given day of the week, because why not.  It’s your castle.  A long closet in the foyer rounds out this space.

 Gathering Room, Veranda and Kitchen

The gathering room brings you a welcoming fireplace and coffered ceiling.  This is a large room meant for family.  For gathering with your favorite people.  If you fill this space with comfortable, soft, ‘stay a while’ furniture, it’s sure to be a favorite spot for you.

A large, covered veranda is accessible through a door from the gathering room (and this will take you to the backyard or a lower, exposed patio, if you prefer).  A fireplace out here, with  a small table and grill will be perfect.

A very large, very functional kitchen is here, so dream your desires to life!  The kitchen is wide open to the gathering room.  A very large ‘island’ can fit several barstools, add a small sink, fill the under area with cupboard space for your pots and pans and invite your friends over. This is a cook’s kitchen for certain.  A morning room, with bay shaped backside, has plenty of space for a long rectangular table.  Your kids’ friends love your cooking?  There’s room for them to share your meals.  Kids doing homework while you meal prep is an easy ask too because this space is so large.  Improving your skills or learning new ones…..be sure to consider this resource.

All the ‘extra’s – first floor

As you walk from the kitchen down a hallway toward the two-car garage, you’ll pass the other ‘necessary rooms on the first floor.  As if the kitchen doesn’t have plenty of space, there is a nice pantry in the hall.  All your serving pieces, extra cooking staples and some cleaning supplies will be conveniently located here.

I really like that the stairs to the second floor are in this ‘out of the way’ location.  They don’t intrude into the foyer or your daily living areas. There is also a powder room here and a very decent laundry room with a utility sink.  Just before you head out the door to the garage, pass a small office on the right.  Ideally, the library could be your office space and this ‘office area’ could be a mudroom for a bench with hooks and baskets for shoes, jackets, and umbrellas – a counter for holding groceries, an under counter quiet space for a pet and more.

Master Suite

Taking up ¾ of the left side of the house is indeed, a perfect respite for a king or queen or both.  From the foyer, take a left and then a right down a private hallway to your private get-a-way.  The large master suite also has a bay window shape and high, vaulted ceiling.  If this bedroom doesn’t lull you off to slumberland every night, I don’t know what will.  A door leading into the bathroom plants you right between a door to the private ‘throne room’ and a linen closet. A long, double-sink vanity has more than enough space, so no elbow bumping while teeth brushing, hair styling or general primping. Need a quick shower or a long, luxurious soak in the tub? You have both to enjoy as your mood suits you, so dream big and spa-like in this space.  Finishing this suite is a large walk-in closet.

Barcroft Second Floor

 Second Story

At the top of the stairs is a study area.  This can be hobby space or where older kids do schoolwork.  To the left, (and above the garage), is potential storage.  From the study you climb a few steps into a large rec room.  This space has three dormer windows. If you love movies or sports on large screens, this is the perfect place for that.  Host book clubs, wine tasting parties or bible study?  Again, this room is ready for everything .  From here are two doors that walk out to an open-air terrace.  Chaise lounge chairs will make for a nice weekend napping spot.

Also from the study, is a hallway to a bedroom suite with a walk-in closet and full bath.  I know older kids and visitors alike will appreciate the privacy up here.

A hallway straight from the study takes you past a bathroom and to another bedroom.  This bedroom has access to the bath as well and a walk-in closet.

At the end of the hallway is a door to walk-in attic space.

See, you can have a castle.  This is Barcroft, by Living Concepts and it will have you living comfortably, entertaining well and making memories with friends and family for years to come.

Make this your Own.  Welcome Home.
